One of the world’s most famous comedians, Bassem Youssef, performed at the Youth Center in Sarajevo as part of his “The Belly of the Beast Tour.” Following a series of sold-out shows and strong audience interest around the world, the comedian and satirist’s new tour included several European cities, including Vienna, Berlin, and Paris, with Sarajevo among them.

Given the high demand, he held two performances in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Youssef, often referred to as the “Egyptian Jon Stewart,” presented Sarajevo audiences with his signature blend of political satire, intelligent humor, and personal storytelling, which has made him one of the most influential comedians on the global stage.

Throughout the evening, the audience followed a dynamic, provocative, and humorous two-hour program that left a strong impression on those present. He appeared on stage wearing the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team jersey. Among the guests was regional comedian and satirist Peđa Bajović, who also appeared on stage wearing the same jersey.

Youssef first gained widespread recognition as the host of the popular Egyptian show “Al Bernameg,” the first political satire program in the Middle East, which at one point became the most-watched show with around 30 million weekly viewers and over a million YouTube subscribers.

In addition to his television work, he has appeared in series such as “MO” (Netflix), “Ramy” (Hulu), “Lioness” (Paramount+), and “Upload” (Amazon Prime). His interview with Piers Morgan from October 2023, which went viral and became one of the most viewed in the history of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” also attracted significant attention.

– During 2024, Youssef sold more than 100,000 tickets for his solo stand-up show “The Middle Beast,” performing in theaters and arenas around the world.
